James Choi, MDT
Title: New Ceramic Possibilities on the Horizon
Description: Join James Choi, Master Dental Technician as he reveals how he achieved incredibly lifelike esthetics utilizing a combination of MiYO liquid ceramics in conjunction with new MiYO powder ceramics on minimally reduced zirconia substructures. James will also review exciting new advancements in the areas of digital shade taking technology which were used in the cases he will be sharing with his audience.

James Choi is a certified master dental ceramist with over 18 years of technical experience in crown and bridge, ceramics, implants and dental photography. Prior to opening his own dental laboratory in Connecticut, James held the title of Lab Director for the Master Ceramist Program at UCLA where he was responsible for training students to be some of the best dental technicians our industry has to offer. His extensive background in the dental lab industry gives him a deep understanding of the technical and business issues dental technicians and laboratory owners face daily. Always working to find a balance of high esthetics and production efficiencies, James is actively involved in product development and continues to seek out and provide education in the world of dental technology.

Kite Saito, CDT
Title: Mastering Monolithic
Description: Join Kite Saito, Master Dental Ceramist as he details his transition from porcelain layered zirconia bridges to fully monolithic in order to reduce intra oral porcelain fractures and increase productivity. Kite will share his perspective, approach and techniques in producing extremely esthetic restorations using new materials and techniques on a monolithic canvas.
What you will learn:
- How to replicate details and esthetics in thicknesses of 0.1-0.2mm of liquid ceramic vs. 1.5-2.0mm of layered ceramic
- How to properly prepare monolithic zirconia substructures to create more vital restorations
- How patients benefit from fully monolithic restorations vs. layered restorations
Kite Saito moved from his home town of Yokohama, Japan to Los Angeles, California in 1997. In 2004 Kite graduated from L.A. City College’s Dental Technology Program and went on to earn his Master Dental Ceramist degree from UCLA in 2011, working for a number of dental laboratories along the way. In 2018 Kite joined an in house dental laboratory at Ozark Prosthodontics in Fayetteville Arkansas. Ozark Prosthodontics is a prominent dental practice owned by Dean McNeel DDS, which specializes in comprehensive implant retained full arch cases. In this environment, Kite has the opportunity to work intimately with a comprehensive team of doctors and technicians as they look to provide their patients with long lasting, high end esthetic restorations.

Bart Cothran, CDT
Title: Practical Pink
Description: With the onslaught of implant retained zirconia bridges, today’s laboratories are faced with finding ways of producing beautiful & durable pink esthetics in a more efficient manner in order to succeed. Join Bart Cothran, CDT as he shares his best practices in achieving new level of pink esthetics and efficiency using the MiYO® Pink liquid ceramic system.

- How to replicate gingival details and esthetics in thicknesses of 0.1-0.2mm of liquid ceramic vs. 1.5-2.0mm of layered ceramic
- How liquid ceramics differ from traditional layered ceramics and what you need to do to make them vital
Bart Cothran, Certified Dental Technician (CDT), is a seasoned lab professional with 46 years of experience as a dental technician, with 28 years spent as a dedicated small lab owner. Bart is widely respected by his accomplished peers as a high-end ceramist. Bart is currently a Key Opinion Leader for Jensen Dental and the MiYO Liquid Ceramic system as well as Dentsply Sirona with an emphasis on zirconia products. He is a member the NADL and the Florida Dental Laboratory Association where he currently serves as a board member. Bart attended Florida Technological University where he studied chemistry in the college of natural science.
